New Website Feature
FEATURED ISSUE 
The SJEC has begun a new featured issue section on our homepage.  Each quarter, we will highlight a key issue affecting the local community accompanied by a short video interview with someone on the front lines.  Our first issue, human trafficking, is accompanied by a video featuring Kellie Markey, founder of Dorothy's House.  Click below to access the homepage and see the video.

PRAYING YOUR WAY INTO A NEW SCHOOL YEAR

Every August when the new school year begins, I always feel a mix of dread and joy.  Dread that we are about to lose the wonderful fun freedom of summertime with our children, but joy knowing that at the end of this new school year they will have grown in body, mind and spirit.
Here I would like to share a few ideas about how our family plans to make each year a year of growth.

ANNUAL LIFE CHAIN
Sunday October 1, 2017 
I 2:00-3:30pm
Calling all pro-lifers!  Sunday, October 1 is national Pro-life Sunday.  The annual life chain will be held along Merle Hay Road from 2:00-3:30pm.  Participants can come to St Theresa's Church to pick up their sign, then spend time in quiet prayer along Merle Hay Road as a silent witness.  For more information, contact Ruth Kabitzke at 515.965.1343
ST BONIFACE HEALTH & WELLNESS FAIR
October 7, 2017   I  5:00-7:00pm
October 8, 2017   I   9:30am-1:00pm
All are invited to St Boniface Parish in Waukee for their 2nd annual Health & Wellness Fair.  This two-day event will feature  activities for the whole family including a family fun walk, free health screenings, door prizes, kid’s activities, crafts and much more!
