Happy Last Week of Classes! LCLC has had a busy semester of language events: some highlights include the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, LCLC’s Language Celebration, Korean Chuseok and Game Night, Cultural Cinema Club screenings, Knowing India dance and film events, and this Wednesday’s Paint the Eiffel Tower (1-2PM in 308 GH).
Peer tutors needed! Students in 100-level classes report feeling more confident in classes with Language Learning Assistants (LLAs) and Peer Tutors to help them, so please encourage your upper-level students in Arabic, French, German, Italian, and Spanish to take the peer tutoring apprenticeship (FR 296) course next semester. Interested in joining the program? Either way, contact us at lclc@uic.edu for more information.
Thanks to all our fantastic tutors and LLAs this semester! Nema and Salma (Arabic), Strahinja, Julia, and Caroline (Italian), Hazal, Roman, and Frances (French), John (German), and Jason, Lorena, Valeria, Zaira, and Celeste (Spanish).
Our social media registration push is still going: huge thanks to all who have participated so far by sharing videos and photos of you and your students! Please keep sending us materials so we can publicize your programs and classes. Check out recent fun posts by Vincent (Hindi student) and by Liliana Sanchez, on the LCLC’s Instagram and Facebook accounts.
Planning for next semester? LCLC is open during Finals Week and the week before classes in January, so contact us to schedule an event.
