| Chalk Art Symposium
Thursday, September 21, 4-6:30 p.m., Mary Idema Pew Library, Northeast Plaza
The Chalk Art Symposium features the work of student researchers, scholars, and musicians through non-traditional means. GVSU Alum and chalk artist, Emily Miller, '14 & '20 works with students to translate research from traditional posters and oral talks to the sidewalk. Stop by and see the students at work!

Undergraduate Research Fair: Registration Open
The Undergraduate Research Fair will take place on Tuesday, October 3, 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Grand River Room. We're looking forward to a fun evening engaging with students and we hope your department will join us. Please register for a table by September 24. We will begin promoting to students as well, if you'd like promotional materials to share with your classes you can request this on the registration form.
At the event, students have the opportunity to get information about participating in research and creative projects directly from faculty and staff.

Call for Concept Papers: NSF Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM) Program
The next submission window for the NSF Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (S-STEM) Program is February 20, 2024.
The NSF S-STEM program seeks to enable low-income students with academic ability, talent or potential to pursue successful careers in promising STEM fields.
This is a limited submission opportunity. If you are interested in submitting an S-STEM grant proposal, you must email a 1-2 page concept paper to Kim Squiers in the Office of Sponsored Programs by October 31, 2023. Please contact Kim Squiers or your Dean’s office for more information. PIs must have approval of their Dean or Associate Dean before submitting a concept paper.

Conflicts of Interest and Commitment (COI/COC) Disclosure Forms Reminder
As a reminder, COI/COC forms filed with the ORCI are to be updated: 1) annually for as long as you have a pending or active externally-funded submission or award with the Center for Scholarly and Creative Excellence (including the Office of Sponsored Programs and Technology Commercialization Office), and 2) within 30 days of the discovery or acquisition of a new or increased COI/COC.

| Compliance Corner
Q: I took CITI courses at a previous institution. Is it possible to link the records of my previous institution to GVSU?
A: Yes, you can associate your existing CITI account with GVSU. Any active modules completed at your previous institution will show as completed in GVSU courses.
1. Log into your existing CITI account.
2. Upon logging in, you will be at your dashboard. Select “Add Affiliation” under Institutional Courses.
3. Search for Grand Valley State University. Please do not select the option ending in “(SSO).” Follow the prompts on the screen to complete the affiliation.
4. This will bring you back to your dashboard. Select, “View Courses” next to Grand Valley State University.
5. Under Learner Tools near the bottom of the screen, select, “Add a Course.”
6. Add the desired course(s). Scroll to the bottom and hit “Submit.”
7. Select the “Start Now” or “Continue Course” button to complete the course.
