GTMF Broadcasts Kick Off With A Patriotic Pop Wyoming Public Radio audio engineer Ben Slater and host Micah Schweizer traveled to Jackson for a special live broadcast of the Grand Teton Music Festival’s ‘Patriotic Pops’ concert on July 4. It kicked off the annual Wyoming Public Radio tradition of broadcasting the summer GTMF concerts. Tune in every Wednesday evening throught September 29 at 8 pm to listen.

Live Broadcasts From Frontier Days Brings Music Across The State On July 26th and 27th, Wyoming Public Media's Christina Kuzmych, Grady Kirkpatrick, Paul Montoya, Ben Slater, Anna Rader, Dianne Burner, and Mary Grace Bedwell headed to Cheyenne to meet and greet travelers from around Wyoming and beyond. Each day featured a live performance broadcast with bands The Lonesome Heroes and Samantha Rise.

Rebroadcast Episode of HumaNature Skyrockets Listens After winning the First Place PRNDI for Best Division B Station Podcast in Through the Keyhole, Episode 22 of HumaNature was added into rotation on NPR One, which allowed it to quickly skyrocket to over 44,000 listens, making it the most listened to episode of the program since its inception in August of 2015. Wyoming Fossil Discovery Wows Scientists On July 2nd, Wyoming Public Radio's Cooper McKim was featured on NPR's Here & Now for his story about how the discovery of a 50 million-year-old mammal fossil in the Green River Formation could lead to new information on the evolution of rhino and tapir species. This rare mammalian find could be the largest specimen ever from the formation.

Grizzly Permits Draw Mixed Hunters On July 26th, Wyoming Public Radio's Kamila Kudelska's report on anti-grizzly-hunting activists applying for hunting permits in Wyoming was picked up on NPR's website. Only 22 permits were given out for grizzly hunting in Wyoming, so when activists receive the tags and do not take a bear, it creates tension around the ongoing grizzly de-listing controversy.
