Welcome to the March issue of the Warrior Family Association e-newsletter. I don’t know about you, but I am tired of the cold weather in Fort Wayne! We were teased with some warm weather last week, and I cannot wait until warm weather returns for good. Our students are looking forward to spring break, and I hope you have an opportunity to spend some quality time with your student next week. Some of our sports teams are traveling over break, and President Einolf and I are looking forward to spending time with our men’s volleyball and women’s softball teams in Arizona! We have many alumni and donors in the area who we look forward to seeing, too.
As you may know, Feb. 17 was Indiana Tech's Annual Day of Giving. I am so pleased to report that Indiana Tech raised just over $141,100 from 556 donors! A big thank you to all of you who gave to Indiana Tech to support our students. The donations we received will help fund scholarships, student support, athletics programs, laboratory equipment and so much more. We know that many of you sacrifice to help your student afford a college education, and President Einolf and Indiana Tech’s faculty and staff work efficiently to keep tuition costs as low as possible. Your generosity helps us do even more for students and makes a big difference in enhancing our students’ Indiana Tech experience. President Einolf posted some of these on Instagram to promote the impact of our Day of Giving (use the QR code to view the post).

Last March, I mentioned in my e-newsletter that we would restructure our semester class schedule to add Warrior Wednesdays for our students, faculty and staff. Warrior Wednesdays provide time for students to discuss course topics with a professor; work on labs, class projects, and homework; visit our career center to discuss job opportunities; gain work experience through an internship; and read a book, exercise, or get some much-needed rest. Over the year, we have received great feedback from our students, who have appreciated the opportunity to engage on Warrior Wednesdays in ways that best meet their needs.
With spring break approaching, our winter sports are nearing the conclusion of their seasons and the start of national championship competitions. Our men’s and women’s wrestling teams are competing this week in Wichita, Kansas; our men’s and women’s indoor track teams are competing this week in Gainesville, Florida; and our men’s and women’s basketball teams are each headed to the first round of their national tournaments next week. Good luck to all of them!

Share with your student that Indiana Tech has a Career Center that provides lifelong benefits to students and alumni.
Indiana Tech's Career Center guides students as they pursue the next step in their careers. Our career coaches will support your student through career assessments, job search strategy, interview preparation and more. In addition, the Career Center hosts several events during the year intended to improve your student's career readiness and connect them to opportunities. All services are free, and students are encouraged to visit (virtually or in person) to take full advantage.
Tell your student about an upcoming opportunity to get a professional head shot taken of themselves for various uses, including their LinkedIn profile. On Wednesday, April 1, Indiana Tech's College of Business will host its career fair from 1-3 p.m. in the Seitz Conference Center. The area set up for head shots will be just outside of Seitz, and all Indiana Tech students are welcome to attend.

FAFSA Filing Dates
While you can begin your FAFSA as early as October the aid year before you attend, there is a deadline as well. That deadline is April 15 of the school year you plan on attending.
Please make sure you have your students' FAFSA submitted before this time to determine their State aid eligibility. Also, please make sure you follow up with any requested corrections needed by May 15.

Final Thoughts from a Fellow MomLast month, I turned 60–yikes! I enjoyed celebrating this milestone birthday with Karl, our sons, our future daughter-in-law and some dear friends. We went to an Italian restaurant, and the food was fantastic. Of course, Karl arranged to bring in my usual ice cream birthday cake for dessert. The evening was filled with laughter, heartfelt stories and memories that reminded me how blessed I am.
Thanks for your continued support of your student's journey at Indiana Tech! I will send the final e-newsletter of this academic year towards the end of April, and I will include details about our commencement ceremony, which will be held at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on May 9, 2026.
Please reach out to me if there is anything I can do for you!
