Undergraduate Summer Research 2025 |
The Office of Undergraduate Research is so proud of the students who participated in summer research at the U representing diverse disciplines across campus. For the summer 2025, 260 students premiered their research with faculty at the Undergraduate Research Symposium (Summer) representing 82 different institutions from across the United States. In collaboration with OUR Program Partners, their research showcases the discoveries, questions, and methods that occur when students participate in the research enterprise.
Below are the summer programs that participated in the Summer Undergraduate Research Symposium. Also many thanks to our other campus partners such as Beckman Scholars Program, Materials Research Science Engineering Centers REU, Medical Admissions Preparatory Program (MAPP), Pathology Summer Program, Research Experience in ALpine Meteorology (REALM) REU, and Research Experience in Utah for Sustainable Materials Engineering (ReUSE) REU.

I want to give a special shout to members of the OUR team. In particular the Office is grateful to Angie Leiva who manages summer programming with fierce leadership. Also, much appreciation the OUR team members who helped with summer activities such as organizing the Graduate School Mini Expo, the Undergraduate Research Symposium, and the Education Series which fosters learning beyond the classroom (organized by program manager Shelly Parker), support with the administrative hiring (associate director Cindy Greaves), and on-site support for the bi-weekly meetings with summer researchers joining virtually (program coordinator Sara Cody). And thank you to our student leaders who also assisted with summer activities (Kalista Leggitt and Kian Robison). Finally, thank you to campus leadership and OUR program partners.
