Greetings,
In this season of Thanksgiving, Hofstra University is thankful for its distinguished alumni who return to campus to generously share their experiences, insights, and expertise with current students. Recently, Hofstra welcomed alumni working at major companies like Google and Goldman Sachs to share with students a glimpse into their professional journeys and to offer advice on navigating competitive fields. Alumni at Google spoke of tech industry trends and career opportunities, while those from Goldman Sachs provided guidance on finance careers, underscoring the impact of networking and continuous learning.
Former NFL star and Hofstra alumnus Marques Colston will deliver the midyear commencement address and will receive an honorary Doctorate in Humane Letters during the ceremony on December 20 at 1 p.m. at the Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex. Colston will surely inspire the graduates with his achievements both on and off the field. His success in sports, entrepreneurship, and education exemplifies the diverse accomplishments of Hofstra alumni, and his connection to the university reflects a commitment to giving back.
The university is delighted to welcome Edward Watson, a finance executive and proud Hofstra graduate, to its Board of Trustees. His addition to the Board highlights how alumni remain involved in shaping Hofstra’s future.
These dedicated alumni remind us of the incredible network that Hofstra graduates form while they are at the university. Their continued support enriches the campus community, and we are grateful for the ongoing engagement and impact of our alumni. We look forward to more opportunities to celebrate their accomplishments.
Thank you for your continued support of Hofstra University!
Sincerely,
Susan
