Notice of Required Training
Disaster/Emergency Preparedness
As a valued member of our Sac State community, your safety and security are important to us, especially in this time of transition when many of you have returned to work in person on campus again after a long period of being away.
As we noted in a
previous communication there are two required trainings for employees who work on campus: the Injury and Illness Prevention program (IIPP) and our Disaster/Emergency Preparedness program. This message will explain the Disaster/Emergency Preparedness Program.
Disaster/Emergency Preparedness training covers the basics of how our campus will respond with its Emergency Action Plan in the event of a significant disaster or emergency, including possible building evacuation, so it is a requirement for all employees. The California State University system requires each campus to develop and maintain an emergency management program that can be activated when a hazardous condition, natural or man-made disaster reaches, or has the potential for reaching, proportions beyond the capacity of routine campus operations.
All employees who work on campus are automatically assigned Disaster/Emergency Preparedness training within CSU Learn. CSU Learn will track your progress, note when the trainings have been completed, and will notify you via email when it is time to renew. We encourage you to take the training, as soon as possible. The training should take less than an hour.
If you have already completed the training and are still in compliance, you are not required to take it again until your next natural due date. You will not receive an assignment email nor will it appear under your Assigned Learning. Please check your training transcript for these dates.
Extended Due Date
Please note, the two-week completion due date for this training as shown within CSU Learn has been extended to
December 17, 2021. You will continue to receive reminder notices from the CSU Learn system during this time but will still have until December 17 to complete it. In addition, no overdue reports for this specific training will be sent to managers/supervisors until after December 17.
How to Access the Training
