2019-2020 Leading Chapters

Each year the top chapter in accumulated members and degrees in each district receives the Leading Chapter award. When a school receives the award, its accumulated total returns to zero and it begins a new record.
We're excited to share the list of winners for the 2019-2020 school year! Advisors and administrators of winning programs will receive letters of congratulations. The Leading Chapter award is given out by the district chair as part of the district tournament series.

2019-2020 Speaking and Service Award Winners

The new Speaking and Service Award will annually recognize students who go above and beyond in their service to their teams, schools, and communities. Students receive this award when they earn 200 service points in a given year, the maximum number possible in a given school year in our Honor Society. From more than 140,000 members, fewer than 60 students reached this level last year! Join us in congratulating the 2019-2020 Speaking and Service Award Winners!
This award replaces the NSDA Exemplary Student Service Award. To earn the Speaking and Service Award next year, students must earn 200 service points between August 1, 2020, and July 31, 2021. No application process is required. Current member students of all ages are eligible.

Service Points Update

It's easier than ever to enter service points! You now have greater autonomy to determine the merit of events, an expanded list of options to encourage service opportunities, and more chances to count service activities as we've reduced the number of people in a required audience to five. The limit of service points per year remains 200. This change promotes the value of service in the organization and respects your integrity and autonomy to determine the merit of service activities.

Updated Unified Manual

Following the fall Board of Directors meeting, we've updated the High School Unified Manual. Read a summary of the updates in the change log at the bottom of the manual in Appendix E: Change Log or look for the yellow highlighting throughout!
