1 Week. 3,000 youth. Ton of fun.
Whether we’re helping 1 kid or 100, we’re stoked for the opportunity. But when we get a chance to impact nearly 3,000 kids in one week… holy AWESOME Batman!
That was thetask  two weeks ago when our 3T crew made our second trip in two weeks to NYC. Thanks to our rad partners at Nike, we had the opportunity to lead physical activities and teambuilding sessions for about 3,000 youth in the newly launched Nike Zoom youth basketball league.
Check out this post to see more pictures from the event.
The Season of new!
New. Bigger. Better…. MORE!!!

Usually those words seem annoying and excessive… but what about when they are applied to “doing good”, or helping people?  Yah, then those words rock the freaking party!  Then we celebrate and shout it from the rooftop!

Sooooo, that’s what I’m gonna do.

With all of Triple Threat’s growth over the past 6 months, the last two have been absolutely wild!

Check it:
From opening our offices and launching a BroHouse in California, to adding new Coaches and interns to our team, to partnering with Nike to serve nearly 400 coaches and 3,000 kids over 2 weeks in New York City!

(Takin’ a breath)

Oh, yah, we’ve also continued to grow our existing programming with World Relief serving refugee children, we’ve set our next date (this July!) to send another team to Nicaragua to further explore launching a Triple Threat site there.
Aaaaand we're 3 weeks into a 12-week program with Nike to serve kids on the South and West side of Chicago!

Hot dang I’m pumped!

So what does that mean for you?  Well, if you’re currently serving or supporting these and the many other programs we have going…. Find the closest person to you right and slap a loud high five! You are making difference and changing lives!  (maybe your own! ;-)

Thank you for being a rad person. If you’ve been checking us out for a while and haven’t waded in just yet… now is the time to jump in! DO IT! All this awesomeness means we need more volunteers, interns, Bros, and partners to keep it going.

So please, sign up for a life-changing experience for the kids & families we serve.

Can You Say CHI CITY?!
Since 3T started in 2007, we’ve rocked many events in Chicago. But now, we’re establishing a more permanent presence. Last week, we kicked off the Learn Your Game series, a partner program with our good friends from Nike
LYG is a 12-week program that takes place in TWO locations — Deneen Elementary on the south side and the ABC Polk Bros Center on the west side.
This program is all about teaching kids how to find their true talents and use those things to overcome obstacles in their lives.
Awesome? Yes.
Run for it, run!

Why Steve Loaded the Bases:
Some of our passion-based programs rock out for 8 weeks and come to a triumphant end. Other programs continue for years and become a Triple Threat staple! Enter: Steve Blacksmith and Bases Loaded.
Steve has not only been a huge advocate for Triple Threat, but also has been positively impacting urban youth through his baseball history program for 3 years.
Here's why Steve shares what he loves with 3T!

3T: Why did you start volunteering with Triple Threat?
SB: I wanted to support the organization my daughter was working with so I volunteered for the gardening program that Ball Seed, the company I work with, was running. It didn't feel right just volunteering and I thought it would be more fun leading a program, so I approached Stefie about a program based on the history of Baseball.

3T: What kept you coming back, year after year?
SB: It is an absolute blast and I think I may actually enjoy the program more than the students. I was amazed at how they took to the program and that has been a true pleasure. It is hard for me to imagine not continuing with the program and having the opportunity to reach new students.

3T: What's your favorite thing about volunteering with 3T?
SB: The relationship you build with the students is beyond anything I could have anticipated.

3T: Why should other people share their passion with 3T?
SB: As your motto goes...It is not a passion unless you share it with others. The enjoyment and satisfaction that comes along with sharing your passion to students who really seem to care is priceless.
We think Steve has a super cool story. You can have a story just like his -- start here
