-
Ask for Help: Take the initiative to seek help when you need it. Don’t be afraid or ashamed to ask, because you’re not the only one who needs it. Sometimes, a little help can go a long way.
- Be Open: Be open to new experiences, people, and ideas while staying grounded in who you are. Trying new things can open unexpected doors, help you grow, and allow you to find your community here at UA.
- Prioritize Self-Care: Make the most of your first year, but don’t forget to make time for yourself. Coursework, organizations, and other commitments can become overwhelming, so take mental breaks and give yourself time to reset. Having at least one day a week to recharge can help prevent burnout.
-
Plan: There’s always something happening on campus, but you don’t have to do everything. Find a schedule that balances your academics, organization commitments, social life, and personal time. Planning and staying organized can help you enjoy your first year without feeling overwhelmed.
