Spring AccessFest March 25

Join accessibility practitioners from across campus for this day-long, drop-in event designed to help NC State faculty and instructors improve digital course accessibility. This is not a workshop with formal instruction — it’s a practical, come-and-go opportunity to work on your own materials (documents, Moodle space, multimedia, etc.) in a supportive environment. Bring any materials you’d like to remediate. Accessibility experts will be available throughout the day to answer questions and provide guidance.

Faculty Focus: Classroom Accommodations Module

In response to faculty feedback, OEO has developed a 30-minute module, Classroom Accommodations, covering NC State-specific accommodation procedures, recommendations for course modifications and accessible course design and the respective roles of students, faculty and the Disability Resource Office. This module provides practical guidance to help instructors know what to do when they receive accommodation letters from students.

Digital Accessibility: First, Learn the Basics

The new requirements related to digital content accessibility go into effect on April 24! OIT has resources, tools and guidelines related to support you. We are encouraging everyone to complete OIT’s Digital Accessibility Basics self-paced training (approximately 30 minutes). Once completed, you can use the course content and DELTA’s Digital Accessibility Guide as quick, reliable references whenever you need to check a key principle or definition.
