New Graduate Funding Policies |
The Office of Graduate Student Assistantships and Fellowships (OGSAF) recently announced new graduate student funding policies for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year. These policies represent a significant investment in the graduate student population and ensure that George Washington University remains a leading institution for graduate study.
These new funding policies:
|
-
Create new assistantship and fellowship roles to align with assistant responsibilities.
- Standardize minimum compensation for each graduate student assistantship and fellowship role.
- Clarify assistantship guidelines to keep students, staff, and faculty better informed about the policies of assistantship positions.
|
These policy changes were originally announced in an April GWToday article that provides some additional information about the policy's goals. We expect graduate students will have questions about the policy. OGSAF has created a Frequently Asked Questions resource on our website to provide answers to some of the most common questions we've heard and we will continue to add to this as new questions are received.
|
Updated Graduate Award Requirements Document |
The Office of Graduate Student Assistantships and Fellowships (OGSAF) is also happy to present an updated Graduate Award Requirements document. While the content of the document remains largely unchanged, the updated organization, language, and hyperlinks aim to clarify many of the most common questions students have. We have also relaxed employment restrictions for many students, giving more flexibility in employment options. You can review the updated Graduate Award Requirement document on our website using the link below and please feel free to contact our office with any questions or concerns regarding the updated document.
|
Understand your Funding for Next Year |
If you receive an award from GW or from another entity it's important that you review your award letter to ensure you follow the award's requirements. In particular, you will want to confirm if your award is renewable for multiple years or non-renewable.
If you have questions about your award, please contact the awarding department. A specific contact person should be listed in the body of the award letter.

Find Additional Funding Opportunities
|
If you are looking for additional funding, OGSAF has resources for you! Our External Fellowships webpage also provides lists of funding opportunities to explore and access to our funding database, Pivot.
