Montgomery County Wants to Help Your Employees Take Transit!

If you want to start a transit (or vanpool) benefits program and don't know where to start, or if you have a program and want to increase the benefits you offer - Montgomery County's got you covered!

FareShare will match your company's contributions to start a commuter benefits program or enhance an existing program in an effort to minimize commuter traffic coming into and out of Downtown Bethesda.

Here's how it works:

  • For new direct transit/vanpool benefit programs, the FareShare program will match the benefit offered by the employer up to $50/employee/month – or a total benefit to the employee of $100/month.
  • For existing transit/vanpool benefit programs, the FareShare program will match any increase in the transit benefit up to $50/month.
  • Employers who participate are eligible for a State tax credit of 50% of their contribution, up to a maximum credit of $100/employee/month. This credit is available to both for-profit and non-profit organizations.
