Marc Breitman and Nada Breitman-Jakov named 2018 Richard H. Driehaus Prize laureates
Marc Breitman and Nada Breitman-Jakov, Paris-based architects known for improving cities through quality architecture and urbanism, have been named the recipients of the 2018 Richard H. Driehaus Prize at the University of Notre Dame. 
In conjunction with the Driehaus Prize, Torsten Kulke, chair of the Society for the Rebuilding of the Historical New Market Dresden in Germany, will receive the Henry Hope Reed Award, given annually to an individual working outside the practice of architecture who has supported the cultivation of the traditional city, its architecture and art. Learn more about the laureates

Alumni Spotlight: Bill Bates '75 elected President of the AIA 
Bill Bates ‘75 has built a stellar architecture and corporate real estate career through his deep belief in community engagement and his commitment to give back to the communities who have given so bountifully to him.  The AIA recently recognized his leadership and commitment to the profession when its membership elected him national President of the AIA.  Learn more about how his experiences at Notre Dame shaped his career. 
Architecture students aim to reconstruct Aleppo

A recent article in The Observer focuses on a studio led by Professor Lucien Steil in which architecture students are engaging in a semester-long project aimed towards reconstructing Aleppo, Syria, a city destroyed by years of civil war. Learn more
Student Spotlight: Matthew Hayes
Matthew Hayes, a senior with a major in Architecture and Concentration in Furniture Design, traveled on a Break Travel and Research Grant from the Nanovic Institute to compile research for his senior thesis.  He went to a monastery in Belgium this fall to research a design proposal for a monastery and brewery in upstate New York. Learn more about Matthew's research.
2018 Career Fair Matches Students and Firms
Over 60 firms packed the Dahnke Ballroom in the new Duncan Student Center on February 20 for the School of Architecture’s annual career fair. With graduation and summer vacation fast approaching, 47 graduating students sought full-time employment while a host of second-year, third-year, fourth-year and graduate students sought summer positions.  The School of Architecture holds an independent career fair to cater to the unique needs involved with establishing a career in architecture.  Learn more about the 2018 Career Fair.

Architecture Students Honored by the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art
Three Notre Dame architecture students and one alumnus were honored at the 2017 Institute of Classical Architecture and Art Acanthus Awards ceremony. Brian Mork ‘13 was honored as the 2017 Architecture Fellow, while Kate Chambers, Ellen Chen and Alexander Preudhomme each accepted a student award for their design work.
