Region 6 STEM Center is thrilled to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the Rapides Academy Drone Team! Throughout the season, the team has showcased their exceptional talent, securing victories and placing impressively in numerous local and regional competitions. Their dedication and skill were particularly evident at the South Central Region Championship Drone Competition in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where they went head-to-head with 50 middle and high school teams. They placed third place in Skills and won the Middle School Think Award category. Congratulations to the outstanding members of the RA Drone Team for their well-deserved success!

The LASTEM Summit is an annual conference whose goal is to strengthen PK-16 STEM education (K to Grey!) throughout Louisiana and the nation. This year's event will bring together educators, business leaders, government officials, and others who play a key role in STEM education to share ideas and resources. The Summit will feature both informative panels, breakout sessions, and an interactive "Playground" including robotics, Esports, mobile STEM units, and 50+ exhibitors.

The Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian is seeking facilitators of STEM and STEAM programs for middle school aged learners, both in and out of school, to participate in our YouthAstroNet Project. Funded by the National Science Foundation, the YouthAstroNet program provides youth with access to real telescopes, and engages them in using the tools and techniques of professional scientists. YouthAstroNet has been shown to increase youth STEM career interest and science identity.
