Last week, we began our series of weekly drawings for our employee COVID-19 vaccination incentive program. President Mearns randomly selected four employees who received additional incentives.
I would like to congratulate the employees selected in the first round:
- Robert Smiley: $100 bookstore voucher
- Casey Schultz: $100 Tech Store voucher
- Amanda Court: $100 general parking permit
- Steven Reed: $100 in campus dining cash
Please join me at noon on Wednesday this week at bsu.edu/live as I help select our second group of employees. We will once again randomly draw four names to receive one of the following incentives: $100 in vouchers at the bookstore and Tech Store, a $100 general parking permit, and $100 in cash at our excellent campus dining facilities.
As a reminder, if you have not been vaccinated for COVID-19, or have yet to verify your vaccination on our website, we encourage you to do so by close of business tomorrow to be eligible for Wednesday’s drawing. If you were previously approved for the incentive, your name will be included in each drawing, unless you have been selected in previous drawings; employees who are selected for an additional incentive will not be included in the pool for subsequent drawings.
To qualify for our all-employee incentive program, employees should receive their vaccine before August 1, and then complete the online form by August 31. Our incentive program includes the choice of one of two benefits for all full- and part-time vaccinated employees: a one-time $100 credit off our healthcare premium or four additional hours of paid leave. The weekly incentives are in addition to these choices.
I want to thank all of our employees who have taken advantage of our University’s incentive program. To date, more than 1,800 employees have verified their vaccinations—an increase of more than 40 percent over the last 12 days. We are grateful you are helping us in fulfilling our mission to our students to provide a traditional, vibrant educational experience.
