The CERN Foundation will commemorate Ependymoma Awareness Day with a butterfly release that will take place live on May 3 at 4:00 p.m. ET on our Facebook page and later posted on the internet so that supporters can participate and share in this moving occasion. For live access, you will need to follow our page to view. Throughout the day, we will be sharing inspiring videos and messages from our community.

Changing Ependymoma Outcomes Together!

Due to the coronavirus, our plan to host an Ependymoma Awareness Day event has shifted from a live event to virtual activities. Please join us by getting involved in Ependymoma Awareness Day from your home! Your efforts will greatly help us to create further awareness for this rare disease and all donations will go the Ependymoma Fund for Education and Research, supported by the National Brain Tumor Society and the CERN Foundation, to advance ependymoma research toward the development of new and better treatments.

Our hope with Ependymoma Awareness Day is to increase public recognition of this rare tumor and the need for clinical studies to improve early diagnosis, standardize treatment and improve the health status of those living with this disease. Our team is dedicated to improving the lives of children and adults worldwide diagnosed with ependymoma. CERN programs help to improve the care and outcome of people with ependymoma.
The delicate and beautiful butterfly was chosen to represent the spirit of the ependymoma community as a symbol of hope through change. Donate today in honor or memory of a loved one that has been impacted by ependymoma. This year, we will be placing a paper butterfly for each donation in a blooming tree as a visual representation of support from our community. If you submit a message when you donate, we will hand write your message on the back of the butterfly before we place in the tree. Please help us fill up the tree with paper butterflies!
