COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic—Saturday, November 5: COVID-19 boosters for students will be available on campus in Paresky Commons (Mural Room, upper level) from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. COVID-19 boosters for age 12 and up have now moved to the bivalent formulation, which includes coverage against both the original SARS-CoV-2 strain as well as the more recent omicron variants. Pfizer has a bivalent booster available for individuals who are 12 years of age or older; the Moderna bivalent booster is available for individuals who are 18 or older.
Please encourage your student to schedule an appointment for their booster via the Sykes Wellness Center Health Portal. Phillips Academy requires that students be up to date with their COVID-19 vaccination by January 4, 2023. This includes any boosters (such as the new bivalent booster) that have been added to meet the CDC definition of “up to date.”

Theatre Performances This Weekend
Airness (high school edition): In this high-spirited comedy directed by guest faculty Natalya Baldyga, Nina enters the cutthroat world of competitive air guitar–playing. As she navigates this world, she meets a group of misfits all vying to be the next world champion air guitarist. Along the way, she learns that, like with any art form, there is an element of self-discovery and ultimately finds herself in the joy of playing pretend.

Exalted: Our fall dance performance will include three pieces: Exalted, choreographed by Kareem Lewis to the music of Phillip Glass; Ceiling/Sky, choreographed by Judith Wombwell in collaboration with the performers, set to Gorecki’s Symphony No. 3; and, in the spirit of the holidays, students will also perform the iconic snow scene from The Nutcracker.

Families of students involved in the above productions can check in at the Information Desk in George Washington Hall to receive priority seating. A-E Challenge Nov. 10-12
While our student-athletes prepare to compete in the Andover-Exeter games, PA families, alumni, and the greater Andover community are invited to rally in a different competition—this one off the field.
The Andover-Exeter Challenge is a 48-hour competition about participation. How do we beat our biggest rival Exeter? Make an online gift—of any size—between 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 10 and 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12. The school with the most donors wins! All are welcomed and encouraged to donate to any area of the Academy of their choosing, but please note that only one gift per person will count. Support our students and uplift the Andover experience all at the same time!

End-of-Term Departure
Please note that students must attend all class meetings* during the final week of fall term—regardless of how instructors plan to use those meetings.
- All students may depart campus after 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 17
- All boarding students must depart campus by noon on Friday, November 18
*Only in extraordinary circumstances will permission be granted for a student to miss class meetings during the final week of the term. Purchase of non-refundable tickets for an early departure is not considered such a circumstance. (Permission to miss such class meetings may be granted only by David Fox, director of studies).

Thanksgiving & Winter Break Travel
Phillips Academy will offer bus transportation to and from New York City, with a stop in Darien, Connecticut, for Thanksgiving and winter breaks. Students can sign up for one-way travel ($100) or roundtrip ($160).
- Thanksgiving break: Buses depart at 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 17, and return Tuesday, November 29
- Winter break: Buses depart at 4 p.m. on Friday, December 16, and return to campus Wednesday, January 4
Drop-off and pick-up occur at the service plazas in Darien and at Dock 2 at the Port Authority Bus, South Terminal in New York City. Information and form access has been shared with all boarding students. Parents can get answers and access the Thanksgiving form and Winter Break form on The Hive under the Resources and Documents tab.
For transportation to Logan (Boston) and Manchester (N.H.) airports, or Boston’s South Station train terminal, arrangements can be made with private taxi and limousine service providers. Live & Learn at Andover Next Summer!
Andover Summer, open to rising 7th- through 12th-grade students, is a residential academic enrichment program that brings together a community of global learners at Phillips Academy for five weeks each summer. Students immerse themselves in exciting classes, such as Neuropsychology, Entrepreneurship, Great Issues and Controversies of the Modern World, and Art as Action: Murals of the 21st Century. With more than 60 courses offered among three distinct institutes, there is something to satisfy every kind of learner. Students explore new interests, take a step outside their comfort zone, and satiate their curiosity for learning.

- 5:30 p.m.—Jewish Student Union (JSU) Shabbat Celebration: Jewish Student Union Shabbat Celebration led by members of the JSU and Rabbi Michael Swarttz. Sunday, November 6
- 6 p.m.—Protestant Worship Service: Led by Rev. Gina Finocchiaro, Protestant chaplain. Musician of the week: Michael Belcher. We will celebrate the sacrament of communion this Sunday. All are welcome for this time of scripture, prayer, and spoken reflection! Cochran Chapel.
- 6:15–7 p.m.—Roman Catholic Mass: All are welcome to join the PA Catholic community for Mass on Sunday evenings when school is in session. Overseen by Dr. Mary Kantor, Catholic chaplain, with presider Fr. Jack O’Brien and other guest priests from the Archdiocese of Boston. Student leaders participate in liturgical roles as lectors, Eucharistic ministers, and musicians, and help with hospitality. Mass is followed by hospitality and fellowship with snacks and refreshments, and sometimes short programming by Catholic Student Fellowship (CSF) leaders. PA Visitor/Guest Health & Safety Guidelines
On-Campus Visitors: In consideration of the health and safety of visitors and our campus community, we expect visitors to be up to date with COVID vaccination, if eligible. Any visitor who is ineligible or has a medical or religious exemption must mask indoors at all times when on campus. We expect visitors to stay off campus if they have any symptoms of illness and to mask if they develop any symptoms while on campus. We expect visitors to mask at all times or stay off campus if they are a close contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID in the last 10 days. In the spirit of non sibi (not for self), the Academy trusts that campus visitors will follow these guidelines.
Guests at Off-Campus/Regional Events: In consideration of the health and safety of our Andover community, we ask attendees to be up to date with COVID vaccination. We require all attendees to adhere to the public health guidelines established by the CDC and your state and local health officials, as well as to follow venue guidelines and regulations that are in place at the time of the event. Venue-specific guidelines will be shared close to the event date. Prior to attending, we ask that you monitor your health. If you are feeling unwell, please plan to stay home. In the spirit of non sibi (not for self), the Academy trusts that those in attendance will follow these guidelines.
