Dear Coach,
We hope everyone had a great time at the Student Posting Party! Congrats to all teams that advanced at the tournament.

As a reminder, main event competition continues at Carver HS and the Sheraton Hotel on Wednesday, with supplemental speech events at Jackson-Olin HS and Extemp Debate at A.H. Parker HS.

WHAT'S HAPPENING
Middle School Nationals » The Middle School National Speech & Debate Tournament begins Wednesday morning. We are thrilled to have students from across the country kicking off their competition at Huffman HS.
Judge at Middle School Nationals » Any high school student who wishes to judge at the Middle School National Speech & Debate Tournament after being eliminated from main event competition must be a junior or senior with 250 honor society points. Students not meeting this criteria will not be eligible to judge. Student volunteers earn two merit points for each round judged!
Eligible students should meet in the Huffman HS Auditorium on Wednesday and Thursday to judge. Prior to judging, all students must attend judge training. The first judge training will be held at 8:30 a.m. each morning.
HS Speech Quarterfinalists » All quarterfinalists are required to bring their original source materials to the bud room located at Carver HS in 303 Counseling by NOON on Wednesday. Photocopies are not acceptable as proof of original source. In addition, contestants must turn in the script highlighting all of the words used and noting any words added for transitional purposes only. Any contestant failing to produce the original source and highlighted manuscript to the bud room will not qualify for the semifinal rounds of competition.
Consolation Event Re-registration » Pre-registered students who were eliminated from their main event or supplemental event(s) may re-register Wednesday to compete in consolation events (Storytelling or Impromptu) on Thursday. Re-registration will be at the following times and locations:
2 p.m. to 8 p.m. – Carver HS Cafeteria (Main Events)
