Final Garden Clean-Up
All garden plots must be completely cleared of items and plant material by Monday, October 20, 2025, at 9:00 am. This includes all materials such as fencing, plastic, wood, stakes, strings, tarps, tools, hoses, raised beds, etc. Also, all thick-stemmed plants, like corn and sunflowers, are to be removed.
After your plot is cleaned, Extension staff will review your plot with you and all parties will sign and date that you have satisfied the clean-up requirements as stated in the Garden Rules.
Meeting with staff, reviewing the plot, and signing off on the condition of the plot protects you from being subject to the $150 fine in Garden Rule 18. The form states:
The clean-up of plot ______ rented by ____________ has met the expectations as defined in the 2025 Waukesha County Rental Garden Rules that you agreed to in the spring when you signed the Waukesha County Rental Garden Waiver & Release of Liability.
Staff will be available at the Gardens on October 21 and October 22 from 3:00 and 6:00 pm for this, but if you are finished before that and would like to sign off early, please email Nate at npwinkler@wisc.edu to set up a time to meet.
