We are continuing to generate momentum with our popular international initiatives at the Chamber, including visiting dignitaries, trade missions and B2B international events. Just last week, we hosted a roundtable on U.S. trade policy and free trade negotiations with Robert D. Manogue (photo), Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Department of State’s Office of Trade Policy and Programs.
Through our recent member survey, we found that 53% of our members conduct international business and 26% plan to export their product or service this year. We feel the Chamber is uniquely positioned to make a difference in our region through strong business to business international connections and helping our members understand how to be more successful in international commerce.
I’m happy to report that the progress we’ve made facilitating international business and promoting exporting within the region will continue into the Fall with some excellent programs and events.
Three weeks later, join us at McCormick Place where we will be exhibiting at the
20th World Route Development Forum, which is a global gathering of airlines, airports, tourism authorities, civil aviation authorities and more from all corners of the world that will take place September 20 – 23.
In today’s global economy, the ability to do business internationally and collaborate with different cultures is critical to a company’s success. The Chamber is here to facilitate that process and act as a resource for you. Please feel free to reach out to
Shufen Zhao, our Director of International Programs, for more information on how to get involved with our international initiatives.
Sincerely,
