Volunteer Updates & Opportunities
The Garden will continue to be open this month, despite recent changes to the shelter-in-place order from the City of San Francisco. Most volunteer programs have been put on pause. If you are have been actively volunteering this fall, please check with your supervisor about the status of your role.
Volunteers who continue to come in must be extra conscious about assessing their health before coming in (i.e. don't come in if you don't feel well), maintaining 6' distance from others, and wearing a face covering while in the Garden.
Bookstore
We hope to have opportunities for new volunteers soon at the Bookstore. If you are interested in getting involved, please let me know! The Bookstore is currently open Friday-Sunday, 10am—4pm
Bookstore volunteers will work mostly in our open air register area under a canopy (much like the Plant Arbor or a farmer's market). They will assist customers with recommendations and purchases, as well as spend time in the store keeping items neat and organized.
Roving Docent
Rovers play an important role in helping visitors access and enjoy the Garden. We will continue to offer the option for docents to lead Roving Shifts this month and through the holidays.
Bean Sprouts
Volunteers currently active with Bean Sprouts should check email for regular updates from Annette Huddle about the status of this program.
Event Hosts
Volunteers currently active as Event Hosts will receive updates from Evelyn Hymans about the status of upcoming events.
