TONIGHT: Emory Chanukah Celebration
Thursday, December 7, 5:30 p.m., Kaldi's, Emory Student Center
All are welcome to celebrate Chanukah at our third annual "Chanu-Kaldi's." Enjoy candle lighting, jelly doughnuts, latkes, Kaldi's drink tokens, and community. Sponsored by the Emory Office of Spiritual and Religious Life in conjunction with Chabad, Hillel and Meor.

Recap: Emory Christmas Party
On Sunday, December 3 at the Emory Interfaith Center, Emory OSRL, our Christian religious life affiliates, and Christian student organizations held an all-campus Emory Christmas Party. Much laughter and cheer was shared over hot chocolate, hot cider, a s’mores bar, ornament decorating, Christmas music, and a special visit from Santa Claus (Father John Boll from the Catholic Center).

Recap: Emory Bodhi Day
On Thursday, November 30, in Cannon Chapel, the Emory Buddhist community celebrated Bodhi Day. Bodhi Day is a Mahayana tradition of Buddhism that commemorates the enlightenment of Shakyamuni Gautama Buddha. Participants enjoyed a vegetarian dinner following a meditation that included spiritual reflection, contemplation, and gratitude.

Religious Accommodation Policy Reminder -- Spring 2024
As we approach a new semester and planning begins for courses, programs and meetings, OSRL seeks to provide guidance for the Emory community regarding upcoming religious holiday observances that may impact the community. These dates are provided in order to assist community members with avoiding potential schedule conflicts, and can be found here.

In the northern tradition, this is the anniversary of the Buddha's Enlightenment, ca. 596 BCE. In the southern tradition, the Buddha's Enlightenment is celebrated during Wesak. The dates and names of Buddhist celebrations vary significantly among cultures and communities.
