Siren Socials at Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar |
Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar is proud to be the first and only carrier of Hog Island Oysters in Colorado. Celebrate their arrival on its patio, and enjoy them with wines from Aperture Cellars.
Hog Island Oysters raises all five edible varieties of oyster found in the northern hemisphere (and Manila clams), make hand-finished mineral sea salt, and harvest seaweed from their oyster equipment. Jesse Katz, the winemaker of Aperture Cellars, was the first such professional to be included in the Forbes "30 Under 30" list, and a Wine Enthusiast "40 under 40" tastemaker, and be named a Wine Spectator “Rising Star.”

Remembering Tim Curry—and a Legendary Piece of LoDo History |
The world recently lost the incomparable Tim Curry, an actor, singer, and cult icon. In his 80 years, he gave us "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" (originating the role on stage and recreating it for the screen), "Clue," "IT," and so much more.
Curry also had a special connection to Denver’s underground scene. He was a frequent visitor to Rock Island, the legendary LoDo nightclub that became a home for goth, industrial, alternative, and new wave music and for the people who loved it.
This incredible photo depicting Curry at Rock Island reminds us of a different era in Lower Downtown, when places like this gave LoDo its gritty, eclectic character and created memories that have lasted decades. (If you don't know him, he's at the right, garbed in "darkness of the blackest night.")
As we remember Tim Curry and his extraordinary legacy, we also remember the places, people, and moments that helped make LoDo what it is.
Rest in peace, Tim Curry.
