July 12, 2021
This week marks the beginning of weekly drawings for our COVID-19 vaccination incentive program for both Ball State employees and students.
Please join Kathy Wolf, our Vice President for Marketing & Communications, and our friend Charlie Cardinal at noon on Wednesday, July 14, at bsu.edu/live as they select our next group of eligible employees, and our first group of eligible students.
We will randomly draw eight student names to receive one of the following weekly incentives: $100 in vouchers at the bookstore and Tech Store, a Commuter/Residence Hall/Stadium parking permit, and $100 in campus dining cash.
For students to be eligible for our weekly incentives drawings, you must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, and then verify your vaccinations by completing our online form. As a reminder, vaccinated students are not required to wear a face mask on campus, and are exempt from pre-arrival testing for the Fall 2021 semester and any mandatory surveillance testing. Fully vaccinated students will also be exempt from quarantine requirements if identified as a close contact of an infected person and do not experience COVID-19 symptoms.
We will once again randomly draw four names to receive one of the following incentives: $100 in vouchers at the bookstore and Tech Store, a $100 general parking permit, and $100 in cash at our excellent campus dining facilities.
Last week, we continued our series of weekly drawings for our employee COVID-19 vaccination incentive program. Paula Luff, our Vice President for Enrollment Planning and Management, randomly selected seven eligible employees who received incentives.
We would like to congratulate the following employees selected last week:
- Ashley Swartz: All-access parking permit (valued at $650)
- Mindy Shull: Garage parking permit (valued at $469)
- Zachariah Mickler: Culinary class session with Jason Reynolds, assistant director for University Catering
- Jim Shimkus: $100 bookstore voucher
- Melissa Swackhamer: $100 Tech Store voucher
- Bill Betts: $100 general parking permit
- Rob Wirt: $100 in campus dining cash
To qualify for our all-employee COVID-19 vaccination incentive program, employees should receive their vaccine before August 1, and then complete the online form by August 31. Our employee program includes the choice of one of two benefits for all full- and part-time vaccinated employees: a one-time $100 credit off our healthcare premium or four additional hours of paid leave. The weekly incentives are in addition to these choices.
As a reminder, if you have been vaccinated for COVID-19 and are yet to verify your vaccination on our website, we encourage you to do so by 4 p.m. tomorrow to be eligible for Wednesday’s drawings. If you are eligible for the incentives, your name will be included in each drawing every week, unless you have been selected in previous drawings. Employees and students who are selected for an additional incentive will not be included in the pool for subsequent drawings.
As we approach our Fall semester together, we also encourage you to read our employee and student COVID-19 Response Plans to learn more about Ball State’s updated health and safety protocols.
