» Miranda's Nights: "She feels good, sounds amazing and for me, this was the 'don't miss' show of the summer," our insider says of Thursday's Miranda Lambert show (7/10). The opening stop of her Platinum Tour also featured Tyler Farr and Florida Georgia Line. RaeLynn and Neal McCoy opened Friday's show in Tuscaloosa, AL. » Irish Eyes Aren't Smiling: "I just received the news the Dublin City Council cannot change their earlier ruling to not allow licenses for all five shows," Garth Brooks says in a statement released Monday (7/14). "So it is with a broken heart, I announce the ticket refunds for the event will go as posted by Ticketmaster." Originally slated to start today, the refund process will now start Thursday (7/17). "I really want to thank all the people around the world who continued to think good thoughts that this would actually happen." In other news, Andy from Atlanta has revealed that the first stop of Brooks' U.S. tour will be Chicago. Look for the full tour announcement Tuesday (7/15).




» Best Of The Fest: More stars have been added to the lineup of CMA Music Festival: Country's Night To Rock, hosted by Little Big Town and airing Aug. 5 at 8pm ET on ABC-TV. Miranda Lambert (including her duet with Carrie Underwood), Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts and Thomas Rhett will be featured in the stadium concerts, while fans will see Cole Swindell hosting a late-night jam at a Nashville club. These artists join previously-announced performers including Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Hunter Hayes, Brad Paisley and The Band Perry.


» Eye Screen Sunday:  Carrie Underwood will star in a two-and-a-half minute behind-the-scenes look at the making of "Waiting All Day For Sunday Night," the opening theme for Sunday Night Football. The spot will debut in movie theaters July 25. On the small screen, The Sound of Music Live! received four Emmy nominations (7/10), though none directly for the leading lady. Nods were for Outstanding Music Direction; Outstanding Directing For A Variety Special; Outstanding Special Class Program; and Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control For A Miniseries, Movie Or A Special. The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards will air live Aug. 25 at 8pm ET on NBC-TV.


» Hurts So Good: Little Big Town will release their sixth studio album, Pain Killer, Oct. 21. The album is produced by Jay Joyce and features their current single, "Day Drinking." LBT co-wrote eight of the 13 tracks on the album. "Sometimes you don't know what's going to happen in the studio," says the group's Karen Fairchild. "We're always striving and pushing ourselves to go somewhere new. Pain Killer is a new place for sure."


» C'mon Get Happy: Kenny Chesney revealed the cover for his Sept. 23 album The Big Revival. Shot by photographer Allister Ann, the cover features the multi-colored bus (which Chesney helped paint) from his "American Kids" video, with items scattered about including dusty sleeping bags, various instruments and an old surfboard. "Rather than another picture of me," he says, "I figured, let's throw open our imaginations."

» Get Drunk And Be Somebody: The story of Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson meeting and sharing "Sunday Morning Coming Down" will be featured in the "American Music" episode of Drunk History. The show is based on facts, but the person telling the story is drunk. Johnny Knoxville appears as Cash. The episode will air Tuesday (7/15) on – where else – Comedy Central, but you can get a preview here.




» Life Note: Former Pistol Annie Ashley Monroe was discharged from a Nashville-area hospital after being admitted for a severe kidney infection Friday. "I'm finally feeling some relief after spending two nights in the hospital," says Monroe. "I'm very grateful to everyone for their prayers and understanding during this time." Monroe's tour resumes July 18 in Cincinnati, OH. Tour dates here.

  • Josh Turner will headline the 17th annual Concert for Cumberland Heights Oct. 15 at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. Striking Matches will open, and proceeds benefit the John Hiatt Fund for adolescent and young adult treatment at a local alcohol and drug addiction center.
