   FILE YOUR FAFSA/TASFA
On the topic of being prepared, attend the FAFSA/TASFA Completion Workshop from 5:30 to 8 p.m. next Wednesday, Feb. 7, in Willis Library 130, if you need help submitting your application.
Here’s some information to help you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) for 2024-25:
  • Use 2022 tax documents
  • FAFSA applicants, ensure all necessary parties (guardians/students) have an FSA ID
  • TASFA applicants, please complete the paper copy as the online form is currently unavailable
  • Submit one aid application only, either FAFSA or TASFA – TASFA is usually for non-permanent or non-citizen Texas residents
Find out which application you should complete and review UNT's financial aid timeline for priority deadlines.

   EAGLE ALERT POST-TEST
UNT’s Eagle Alert system sent a test message to students, faculty, staff and UNT System staff on Friday, Jan. 26. Because the Eagle Alert system is intended to communicate vital, urgent information in potentially life-threatening situations, the university maintains strict criteria for initiating an alert to the community.
If you are on or near campus and receive an Eagle Alert, it is crucial that you pay attention to it. Learn about Eagle Alert and check that your contact information is current at my.unt.edu. We suggest saving Eagle Alert as a contact in your phone, so you'll know the source of the call (940-369-8097) or text message (89361).

   BLACK HISTORY MONTH
In the United States, Black History Month is observed annually during the month of February to commemorate the achievements and contributions of African Americans. This year’s theme, “African Americans and the Arts,” explores the influence African and Black American culture has had in literature, fashion, visual and performing arts, language, culinary, film and music. Celebrate this month with these local events in Denton:
