| Knights of Columbus fish fry |
Over 300 gathered for a delicious meal, tempting desserts, and great conversation at the St. Columbkille Knights of Columbus Fish Fry on February 20. Habitat for Humanity–Clinton County was honored to be the selected charity providing the pies, cakes, cookies, and brownies for the dessert table. With the table piled high, choosing a favorite was no easy task—many desserts were enjoyed with dinner, while others were wrapped up to take home.

Habitat is grateful to be one of five charities chosen by the Knights of Columbus 3369 to provide desserts, assist at the dessert table, and help with cleanup. Donations collected at the dessert table will support Habitat’s mission of building safe, affordable homes in our community. Among those spotted in line were our newest ReStore volunteer, Kelly, who enjoys cleaning and organizing at the ReStore, and Habitat President Cecilia Krusling. The Knights will continue their weekly Fish Fry through March 27.

| HFH-CC contributes to the Lions |
Each February, the New Vienna Lions Club hosts its annual Pancake Breakfast fundraiser to support local projects and community initiatives. As we have in years past, Habitat for Humanity–Clinton County was proud to contribute with a donation in support of this worthwhile event. Several of our Habitat volunteers are also active members of the Lions Club, reflecting the strong spirit of service shared by both organizations.
Pictured is HFH-CC Board Member Mitzi Dennis presenting a gift card to Wendell Compton of the New Vienna Lions Club.

Mitzi is a dedicated ReStore volunteer, and when he’s not busy with Lions Club activities, Wendell can often be found swinging a hammer on a Habitat construction site.
Habitat for Humanity–Clinton County values these meaningful partnerships and is always eager to collaborate with others throughout our surrounding communities to make a lasting local impact.

Habitat has lost another dear friend and faithful volunteer. Don Derrick passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026. Don generously shared his time and architectural expertise with Habitat for Humanity–Clinton County, helping build more than 40 homes and remained involved when he could no longer actively work on the job site.
