Keep Massachusetts Beautiful
Dear Friend,
Starting this week and continuing through the weekend, volunteers from Dell Technologies, Keep Framingham Beautiful, Keep Natick Beautiful, Wellesley College, and Keep Boston Beautiful will be cleaning the Boston Marathon route ahead of the April 15 race date. Our Litter-Free-to-the-Finish Boston Marathon cleanup is one of dozens that can be found on our April events calendar. An Evening to Remember at Annual Clean Community Awards

100+ people gathered at the Village Hall in Framingham on March 21 for our 5th Annual Massachusetts Clean Community Awards celebration.
The evening featured some serious trash-talking, as well as inspiring words from our honorees.
Thank you to our gold-level sponsor, Noble Oak Whiskey, as well as our other sponsors and silent auction donors.

Thank you to the members of the KMB Board of Directors who were able to attend, as well as the numerous state and local legislators who took time out of their busy schedules to attend.

Thank you to our award winners for their entertaining and poignant comments. Click to view our photo gallery.

Thank you to Cindy Fitzgibbon for doing an amazing job emceeing the event and for featuring KMB in a WCVB Eye-Opener video.

Give Some Green to Support Our Mission During Earth Month

Spring has arrived and that means that litter cleanup season is kicking into high gear!
As part of the Great Massachusetts Cleanup, thousands of Keep Massachusetts Beautiful volunteers will soon be fanning out across their communities to clean up the litter that has piled up over the winter months.

These cleanups harness the positive energy of volunteers who collectively remove an estimated 150+ tons of litter and debris from Massachusetts roadsides, parks, schools, playgrounds, and beaches each year.

Please help us reach our $5,000 Earth Month fundraising goal by April 30. No donation amount is too small and every dollar gets us closer to achieving our vision of a cleaner, greener, litter-free Massachusetts!

Keep Toxics Out of Trash & Recycling

Did You Know? Hazardous Materials Don't Belong in Your Recycling Bin

Hazardous materials include things that can catch fire (batteries), explode (propane tanks and aerosol cans), corrode (hazardous chemicals), or otherwise harm the workers and/or equipment at recycling facilities. These items are dangerous, so please remember to put them aside and dispose of them properly during your community's household hazardous waste collection day or drop-off center.

From The KMB Blog:

Balloons Blow! The Harmful Effects of Balloon Releases

As graduation and prom season approaches, balloon releases will be on the rise. While balloon releases can offer beautiful symbolism in “letting go” and “reaching for the heavens,” from a logistical and environmental perspective, all they do is create harmful waste because they all eventually return to Earth as litter. Fortunately, there are eco-friendly alternatives to balloon releases. Read more.
