Announcing the 2017-2018 Club Award Winners
Earlier this fall, we named the Club award recipients for the 2017-2018 season. Every year, schools can earn Club awards for achieving degrees in the Honor Society.
How are the awards earned? Club awards are based on school strength. For example, the 100 Club recognizes schools with a strength of more than 100 points in the prior school year. The 200 Club honors schools that earned 200 strength points; and so on.
Use our Templates to Invite Administrators to Tournaments!
Following the Coaches’ Caucuses in 2016, 2017, and 2018 and meetings with a rural school focus group, we are working to support tournaments striving to create a more meaningful, inclusive space for attendees. To that end, we have created templates that can be used to invite administrators to observe speech and debate tournaments. These are especially helpful in garnering support at under-resourced schools. We use these same tools ourselves to invite administrators to the National Tournament! Lincoln-Douglas Topic Update
Members can catch an update on the November/December topic from Victory Briefs Institutewritten by Lawrence Zhou, 2014 NSDA Lincoln-Douglas national champion.
"I have to say, I was relatively surprised with the direction that some of the rounds that I adjudicated went. This topic is wildly different than past LD topics and so the direction these rounds are going is also wildly unpredictable. I will note some of the thoughts I’ve had after judging a few rounds on this topic."
