Membership Pre-payment Available for 2019-2020

Thank you for your membership with the NSDA. We appreciate having you as part of our community! Your current school membership is valid through July 2019. We hope you will choose to continue participating in our Honor Society again next school year.

If you're ready to renew now, or if you have funds remaining to pre-pay next year's Resource Package subscription or student memberships, log in and visit the School Finances tab in your NSDA Account. From there, you can generate invoices for the 2019-2020 school year, which you will be asked to activate after August 1, 2019.

Changes to Supplemental and Consolation Events

At the 2020 National Tournament, we will pilot changes to Supplemental and Consolation events. We will explore turning Impromptu and Storytelling into supplemental events, running supplemental speech events using a traditional tournament model, three guaranteed prelim rounds on Wednesday, and a single elimination round bracket on Thursday. Apply for the William Woods Tate, Jr., Memorial Fund

The William Woods Tate, Jr., Memorial Fund is designed to help schools and students attending the National Speech & Debate Tournament for the first time, as well as schools with demonstrated financial need. Applications will be accepted until April 30. To access the online form, please click here.

Time is Running out to Vote for Your Local Leadership

Voting in the district leadership election closes Friday, April 19. Each active member high school shall have one vote. One high school chapter advisor may log in to their NSDA Account and select NSDA Voting from the menu to cast a ballot online from a list of coaches active (affiliated with an active school) in the district. Advisors must rank a minimum of six and a maximum of eight coaches. Learn more about the election and district leaders »

We're Looking for the Best Debaters in the Country

Each year we select the best debaters in the country to represent the United States in international competition. Applications for the 2019-2020 USA Debate Team are now open! Before they can complete their application, students must collect signatures from their Coach/Advisor as well as from their Parent/Guardian and Principal/Administrator.

Your students can get started or learn more about the stages of the application process here. We hope you'll encourage members of your team with the necessary skills and values to apply. Hear from members of the 2018-2019 team in the video below!
