Note from the Director

What an amazing start to the year it has been for each of the four programs nestled in the Change Institute. It has been wildly energizing to see so many motivated and compassionate leaders answer the call to respond to the growing needs of our world.

Thank you to all of our current and former leaders who continue to grow this institute into a community of servant leaders who change the world from the Hilltop to the furthest corners of the globe.

Brianne and I are determined to continue "crushing it" with your ongoing support as we seek to leverage our interdisciplinary and values-based approach to making our world a more human and "just" place. See what I did there?! 💪🏼

Magis Takes the Stage!

The 2023-34 Magis Fellows look forward to hosting the 3rd annual M-Factor on Tuesday, November 14 at 7 p.m. in Xavier Auditorium. 🎤

Capstone Projects Take a Turn

We are excited to announce that the 2024 McGrath Scholars Program is partnering with local nonprofits that serve the unhoused, like the HomeMore Project, to apply IDEO's human-centered design thinking for this year's Capstone Projects.

Change Institute Leaders at Capitol Hill

Change Institute Leaders Advocate for Justice

The 2023 McGrath Graduate Fellows and 2023-24 Magis Leadership Team spent three days in Washington, D.C. learning about and engaging in social change through public policy awareness and advocacy at the 2023 Ignatian Family Teach-In For Justice.

The McGrath Graduate Fellows hosted a networking lunch for over 75 people entitled, "A Voice for the Planet: Global Perspectives on Climate Justice"!

McGrath Graduate Fellows Spark Global Conversations

The Jesuit Network recently published an article written by Ginny Rider '24 and Mandla Mdluli '25 illustrating the unique perspectives of their cohort during their time in Cambodia this summer.

The network aims to support the emergence of collaborative bottom-up innovation for the universal Mission within the Jesuit apostolic body with over 10,000 readers! 📖

Magis Mentor Makes Headlines

We're proud to see Shennel Henries '24 continue to inspire current and prospective students with her powerful drive to pursue international human rights through law and diplomacy. Way to go, Shennel! ⚖️

A Bright Future Ahead

A big congratulations to one of our 2023 Community Leaders, Levi Kottut '25, for being named a Foreign Affairs Information Technology (FAIT) Fellow! Levi will begin his fellowship with the U.S. Department of State this summer with an internship in Washington, D.C. Levi is currently studying engineering with a concentration in electrical and computer engineering. 💻
