OGSAF is excited to announce that we are hiring a Graduate Instructional Assistant (GIA) for the Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 semesters. 

Graduate Instructional Assistant (GIA) for the Graduate Teaching Assistant Certification Course (UNIV 0250) for 2024-25

Seeking an advanced graduate student to assist in the teaching of UNIV 0250, a one-credit online course that provides foundational training for new GW graduate assistants. This position involves providing timely written feedback on assignments, grading, and facilitation for an online discussion.

The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in teaching, excellent writing skills, and experience grading and working within a team of faculty and fellow graduate assistants. UNIV 0250 is taught by GW’s Faculty Development department within the Libraries and Academic Innovation Division. We are excited to involve a graduate student with an interest in teaching and learning.

The Knapp Fellowship for Entrepreneurial Service-Learning supports one or more projects each year, up to $10,000. Selection of Knapp Fellows is at the discretion of the Provost, who reviews recommendations made by a committee of Nashman Center staff and Nashman Affiliate Faculty. GW undergraduate and graduate students, working individually or in teams, are encouraged to apply.

Award Type: Up to $10,000  in annual funding

Open to: All GW students enrolled in the full academic year they wish to receive the fellowship.

Application Process :

Selection for the Knapp Fellowship is a multi-stage process. Please see the steps below to plan accordingly.

Applicants submit an initial written proposal for review. Applicants may be selected to advance to a second round of review, which requires a 10-minute presentation of their project for a review panel. Detailed instructions for the presentation are issued upon notice that applicants are being considered for the second review.
