Join Today’s Call with HHS

Nick Uehlecke, Advisor to HHS Secretary Azar, will be leading a call today with the goal of speaking directly to senior living providers who want to learn more about the CARES Act Provider Relief Fund application and distribution – both Phase 2 and Phase 3. His goal is to walk providers through the HHS application and distribution process, and share how they are working through any complications.

We strongly encourage you to join us and Nick this afternoon, and please share this communication with your staff as needed. This is an exceptional opportunity to speak directly to HHS regarding this process. We will share with him ahead of time frequently asked questions we have been receiving, but please be sure to bring your questions and concerns.

Phase 3 Funding – Deadline Tomorrow, Nov. 6.
Tomorrow marks the deadline to
apply for CARES Act Provider Relief Funding through HHS’ Phase 3 General Distribution. This phase was announced on October 1 and is meant to bring all qualified providers to a “baseline” distribution equivalent to 2% of revenue for a single year. Additionally, once that threshold has been met for all applicants, HHS will develop a methodology to disburse the remaining funds. Approximately 10-14 days after all applications are received, HHS will announce the methodology and proportion of losses that applicants are to receive.

It is important that you apply for Phase 3 even if you haven’t had your first payment processed from the Phase 2 General Distribution. Based on the results of a recent Argentum survey, we know nearly half of those who’ve been approved for Phase 2 funding have not yet received their payments. Rest assured, we are continuing to communicate with HHS and put pressure on them to process and distribute these outstanding payments as soon as possible. For additional updates on Phase 3 funding and reporting requirements, click here. If you have any questions about Provider Relief Fund payments, please email us at and we’ll respond as soon as possible.

Be sure to also register for our upcoming member-only webinar, “Complying with Terms and Conditions of HHS Provider Relief Fund Payments,” scheduled for Monday, November 9 from 1-2pm ET.  On October 22, HHS
issued a revision of their reporting requirements and broadened the definition of “lost revenue”. That revised guidance can be found here. On Monday, Tom Barker, Partner at Foley Hoag and Diane Bridgewater, EVP, Chief Financial & Administrative Officer at LCS will answer your questions on compliance with Provider Relief Fund Terms and Conditions as well as review the reporting requirements and their deadlines for submission. Register today.
