On October 26, Gwinnett County’s District 1 Commissioner Kirkland Carden shared an update on the future of the Gwinnett Place Mall site during Bisnow’s Atlanta Construction and Development Summit. This event highlighted the Atlanta area’s status as a desirable site for redevelopment to an audience of Atlanta’s top investors, developers, contractors, architects, government officials and community leaders.
Commissioner Carden made it clear that the Gwinnett Place area is the county’s economic engine and reiterated the county leadership’s commitment to implementing the Gwinnett Place Mall Site Revitalization Strategy for future development and economic growth. Currently, the county is developing a scope of work and selecting a partner for the project’s development. He also shared that Gwinnett County staff are working with anchor property owners, with whom the county has good relationships, to engage them during the decision-making process.
