Updates, News, Requests, and Reminders
HR website upgrade: The HR website will undergo a technical upgrade on or about June 27. You'll notice some look-and-feel differences, but the content and pages will remain the same for now. We don't anticipate the upgrade to cause problems, but if you notice broken links, missing files, or other weirdness, please email hrcommunications@uoregon.edu.
Officer of Administration review tracking: Effective immediately, start using Banner screen PWAREVW to track OA trial service and annual performance reviews. University HR will use this data as the official source of OA performance review completion. For access and instructions, visit the HR website.
OFLA to PFML transition: Effective July 1, some leaves are no longer covered under the Oregon Family Leave Act (OFLA) and must transition to the UO's Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML) program. Employees currently on an affected leave have been notified and provided instructions. Please encourage these employees to respond to requests from the Benefits team in a timely manner to maintain their protected leaves.
CUPA-HR account credentials: CUPA-HR has launched a new online system. If you have a CUPA-HR account, you'll need to create a new password. See CUPA-HR's instructions.
Unpaid appointment renewals and terminations: Review unpaid appointments for needed renewals and terminations, by running the Cognos report "Courtesy, Campus Associate, and Emerit Appointments," by June 30. Appointments with no end date require no action for the appointment to continue. If an appointment does have an end date and you need to renew it, submit an Unpaid Appointment Form. If you need to terminate an unpaid appointment, submit an Employee Separation Request form. See the HR Operations website.
Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) updates: The U.S. Department of Labor has announced a final rule that increases the salary thresholds required to exempt many salaried employess from federal overtime pay requirements. Effective July 1, 2024, the threshold will increase to the equivalent of an annual salary of $43,888. On January 1, 2025, it will increase again to $58,656. University HR is working with area leaders to evaluate the impact of this change. More information will be coming.
