» Florida Georgia Fine: Florida Georgia Line say there's something for everyone on their Oct. 14 album Anything Goes, but it's not predictable. "I say don't have any expectations and just put the disc in or put a playlist on your iPod and just crank it up and enjoy it," says the duo's Brian Kelley. Calling it a continuation of their debut Here's To The Good Times, FGL's Tyler Hubbard says the new project is an evolution. "I think we've stepped up our game," he says. "We've really made an attempt to work hard the last two years and get better at singing, get better at writing songs, get better at singing in the studio and performing. In all the different aspects that we do we've tried to step it up." The guys are starting street week with a No. 1 song ("Dirt"), their fifth chart topper to date. Their 2015 Anything Goes Tour launches Jan. 15 in Toledo. See when they're coming to your town here.

» Deck The Hall: From "Gone Country" to "Dixie Highway," Alan Jackson's Artist In Residence show at the new CMA Theater in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum (10/8) was an engrossing and expansive encapsulation of his remarkable career. "Drinkin' already?" Jackson joked with the crowd after his introduction. "It's Wednesday night, isn't it? Supposed to be at church, aren't we?" For the 800 folks lucky enough to be in the intimate room, many of whom were obviously die-hard Jackson fans, the evening was church.

Jackson managed to touch on 29 titles over more than two hours by condensing many of them. One he'd never played live was "Angels & Alcohol," from an upcoming album. "It's going to be country music," he noted, to riotous cheering. Jackson certainly had fun, telling stories about the brother-in-law who wouldn't leave him alone about a song idea ("I Don't Even Know Your Name") and getting ribbed by Travis Tritt's bus destination sign ("Jukebox Rocker"). "'Artist in residence,' they keep saying, but they haven't shown me one place to stay yet," he joked at one point. If anything, the performance proved that Jackson deserves permanent residence – as a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. It can't come soon enough.

» Deep In The Heart: The Eli Yound Band represented their home state well with a halftime performance at Thursday's Houston Texans-Indianapolis Colts game at Houston's NRG Stadium (10/9). In full Texans attire and sporting ribbons and wristbands promoting breast cancer awareness, the band delivered "Even If It Breaks Your Heart," "Dust" and "Crazy Girl." A video montage of breast cancer survivors on the venue's jumbotrons accompanied the latter. And next time you're at a Texans game, look for the guys as part of their season-long partnership with the team that includes their video rendition of "Deep In The Heart Of Texas" just before kickoff. More here.

He's teamed with Celebrities for Charity for a sweepstakes to give away a trip to his Oct. 25 That's My Kind of Night Tour stop in Los Angeles.
