Dean's Den Takes a Deeper Dive into Recent Executive Orders Designed to End Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The Dean's Den series on President Trump's early actions continues TODAY with Professors Kaipo Matsumura and Kimberly West-Faulcon. Hosted by Dean Brie Clark, the conversation will take a deeper dive into executive orders and other actions that implicate anti-discrimination protections: from orders seeking to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts broadly to orders specifically seeking to reverse or redefine existing law in the area of racial and gender equality. We will consider the potential impact of these actions in light of the constitutional and statutory foundations that determine the scope and limits of federal agency power in these areas.

The conversation will be held TODAY, Monday, March 17, 2025, 12-1 p.m. PT in Merrifield Hall on the LMU Loyola Law School campus with a virtual option. Lunch will be provided.

Loyola Anti-Racism Center to Host Author Keri Blakinger

The Loyola Anti-Racism Center will host author Keri Blakinger as she dives into her book, Corrections in Ink: A Memoir and signs copies on Friday, March 21 at 5 p.m. in Robinson Courtroom. Blakinger's memoir tells the story of her journey from the ice rink to addiction and a prison sentence to the newsroom – and how she emerged with a fierce determination to expose the broken system she experienced. Entertainment and Media Law Institute Hosts Annual 'Call My People' Panel

The LLS Entertainment and Media Law Institute (EMLI) and LMU School of Film and Television are joining forces once again to host "Call My People," a behind-the-scenes look at how creative professionals and their agents build successful relationships with studio lawyers and business affairs. The event is Friday, March 21 from 4-6 p.m. at the LMU Playa Vista campus. A networking reception will follow the discussion.
