On Saturday, June 12, we came together as a school community to celebrate, honor, and stand with the resilient Class of 2020. With pomp and circumstance playing in the background, each member of the class, wearing their cap and gown, received acknowledgment as their name was called, walking to the stage to not only receive their diploma, but also their coveted class ring.   

This ceremonial rite of passage, celebrated by high school graduates across the country, is something that Knight Nation does not take lightly. The final simple gesture of moving the tassel on the cap from right to left is something that, for many of our community, is not always attainable. It is truly an honor for all DLSNC faculty and staff to celebrate four years of hard work, determination, and sacrifice by not only our students but their entire family.  

Much has occurred in Portland and across the country over the past four months and the DLSNC community has been no stranger to the impact. We have been innovative with distance learning and are also facing the ugly reality of racism. These two events have caused and will continue to cause, immense anxiety and pain, but still, Knight Nation rises! I am extremely proud of how our school community has come together to assist through a very difficult process.  

Thank you for believing in our wonderful school and amazing students. I ask that you continue to partner with us by not only making a charitable contribution but by sharing our school story. De La Salle North Catholic’s story must continue to thrive and be told so that future generations of talented students can be part of Knight Nation.
