Dear Southwestern Community,
On Monday morning, I was invited to attend the Martin Luther King Prayer Breakfast for Leaders co-sponsored by the Georgetown Ministerial Alliance and the Georgetown Police Department. The service was very inspiring and uplifting; it was enormously heartwarming to see Georgetown come together and offer such an inspiring message of unity and inclusion and hope. Fortunately,
a recording was made available that I share with you today.
The following MLK quotation, proclaimed in his Nobel Peace Prize speech, has always been one of my favorites and appropriate for where we find ourselves at this time: “I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for their minds, and dignity, equality and freedom for their spirits.”
Sincerely,
