NFHS Retainment and Recruitment Survey Data: The National Federation of State High School Associations recently surveyed more than 900 coaches about retainment and recruitment. You can access the overall national results and your specific state results via this dashboard. The survey remains open so we may continue to collect data. If your state's participation is low and you would benefit from knowing more, use this link to encourage your members to take the survey. The results will update automatically on the dashboard.

The Pay It Forward grant is available to start new programs and for under-resourced schools or schools experiencing hardship. This grant provides two years of a school membership, a free coach membership, and up to ten free student memberships. If you know of schools that should receive this grant in order to start or maintain a speech and debate program, please email membership@speechanddebate.org and mention the promo code "PIF-Community Connect."

Our Springboard Series offers four free, online practice rounds per month. They take place after school at 6:00 p.m. CT with live judges and ballots. Thanks to the generosity of The Julia Burke Foundation, all are welcome to participate, no NSDA membership required. These are ideal practice sessions for speech and debate students who want to build their confidence in competing while also receiving real feedback from judges across the nation.
