RTSWS seniors are reflecting on what they have learned, the confidence they have built and the futures they can now see more clearly thanks to RTSWS volunteers and sponsors.
The program and volunteers gave students opportunities to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences. “My favorite part about being a Student CEO is definitely getting to engage with peers,” Lexi shared, “and watching them through the sessions learn more about finance.”
For students who were new to investing, RTSWS helped make the industry feel more accessible. “Before my first RTSWS session, I was nervous that I didn’t have enough experience or knowledge,” Lila said, “but I quickly realized that what mattered most was being open to learning and stepping outside my comfort zone.”
Students also gained practical knowledge they could use beyond the classroom. Maria said she learned “how to value stocks” and how to calculate what she would need for college, resources she had not had before, “not because I didn’t want to, but because the resources weren’t provided to me before RTSWS.”
Volunteers played a central role in making those lessons meaningful. “All the volunteers who attended the sessions were always so nice and inviting,” Tanisha shared. “They helped us develop our professional portfolios, learn more about finance and give us tips and tricks to help us succeed in our own professional careers.”
For many seniors, that support helped shape their next steps. “I’m really glad that I’ve been able to have the support and the mentoring and the guidance with RTSWS,” Michelle said. “And I’m glad to know that after I graduate high school, I’ll still have that support.”
Together, these senior stories show the lasting impact of RTSWS programming. Students start with stronger financial knowledge, greater confidence and a clearer view of the opportunities available across the capital markets.
