   UNT MINIMUM WAGE INCREASE
The university appreciates the hard work and dedication of all UNT student employees, who play a vital role in supporting our campus community.
Starting Sept. 1, the minimum wage for student employees increased to $9.50 per hour. This increase will be reflected in your Oct. 1 paycheck for the Sept. 1 to 15 pay period, and all future pay periods. Students currently earning more than $9.50 per hour will not be affected by this change.
New UNT Police department puppy
   NAME THE SERVICE PUP!
The UNT Police Department needs your help choosing the perfect name for a new furry friend joining the team! Many of you have loved meeting the explosives detection dogs — Watson is the newest of those — so the PD is adding a dog you can pet and interact with as part of her job. She’ll offer support and attend events once she’s a bit older and is working on her training.
Cast your vote by noon Sept. 6. The winning name will be revealed during the football game Saturday, Sept. 7.

Traffic cones
   SAFETY FIRST
Good news! Central Avenue is now completely re-opened, and one-way traffic has resumed on Maple between Welch and Central. That means Maple is one-way again (going west) from Welch to Avenue B.
As construction continues around campus, it's important to stay alert and avoid work zones for your safety. The first treatment using lime on Avenue C from Highland Street to Eagle Drive is scheduled Sept 12-13. Only work crews should be on the job site while this dangerous material is being handled, and unauthorized people should not enter the site at any time.
