Extension Waukesha County 4-H Communication Protocol |
Dear Extension Waukesha County 4-H:
Thank you for all your volunteer efforts with the 4-H program in Waukesha County. We have experienced a couple of situations recently where communications have been made directly with Extension 4-H program partners without first communicating with the Extension Waukesha County office. I want to clarify that the Extension office is the first point of contact before reaching out to partners like Waukesha County or the Waukesha County Fair Board. In the future, please utilize the Extension Waukesha County office as a resource for any communications to partners and policy issues. Please reach out to James Boling at james.boling@wisc.edu or myself prior to communicating with our partners.
Thank you,
Jerry Braatz

If you are planning to work with youth as a volunteer it is important you complete the required steps to participate in Extension Waukesha County 4-H by December 1, 2024.
All approved leaders have access to their club membership and project rosters using 4-H Online. The office will send an email to approved leaders with their roster code and an updated roster indicating which members are approved for their club or group.
Club and project leaders should be following up with families who are not approved members of 4-H. They should not be participating in 4-H programing until they become approved members. All leaders should follow the state 4-H membership requirements. The Extension office will be sharing and recognizing all approved volunteers.
If you are not an approved volunteer, this is a reminder that you should not be serving in any role in the 2024-2025 Extension Waukesha County 4-H program. This includes club and project leaders and committee members. Adults must be approved volunteers to lead projects with the 4-H youth.
Once you have enrolled using 4-H Online and completed your volunteer trainings it takes 24-48 hours to appear on our end. Once your volunteer status is approved, you can begin volunteering in Extension Waukesha County 4-H programming.

The results will help us evaluate and communicate how 4-H helps young people to learn new things, develop leadership skills, manage goals, set high personal standards, create positive academic attitudes, and other skills that lead to long-term success in life.
The survey was sent to all Wisconsin 4-H members by e-mail in the first week of November and reminders have been sent as well. The survey link will be open until December 2nd. Youth who complete the survey will be entered into a raffle to win a $25 gift card. Fill out the survey to help Wisconsin achieve a 30% response rate.
