Jessica McConahey

The Ripple Effect of Dual Credit Classes

At the age of two, Jessica McConahey knew she wanted to enter the medical field. Just before her third birthday, her brother was born prematurely and was rushed into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). She put on a protective mask and booties, but then she was told that the hospital employees had changed their minds and she was not allowed to visit her new sibling. 
“I remember telling my parents, ‘I will be a doctor, so I will never be kept out of that room again,’” McConahey said.                                     Read more

“Almost Gone” Presentation and Book Signing

Don’t miss the opportunity to meet Collin College alumna Mackenzie and her father, John Baldwin, as they discuss their book "Almost Gone: Twenty-Five Days and One Chance to Save Our Daughter."  Free and open to the public, The Dignity Initiative will host the presentation at 6 p.m. (doors open at 5:30 p.m.) Thursday, Sept. 27 at the Plano Campus Living Legends conference center. A Q&A session and book signing will follow the presentation.

Methodist Richardson Medical Center was honored as the Collin College EMS program's Clinical Partner of the Month for July.
