The most interesting parts of nature are often the imperfections. That’s especially true in quantum physics, the atomic-level world where tiny flaws can make a big difference in the ways particles behave and interact. As part of the Center for Quantum Leaps, Chong Zu and colleagues study the quantum power of atomic flaws.

Among the 14 research teams currently funded by the Incubator for Transdisciplinary Futures, three multiyear clusters are addressing an increasingly critical issue: the relationship between technology and the mind. Foundation Team members contribute critical guidance to the central mission of the Strategic Plan, ensuring that our efforts stay true to our core values.
The Foundation Team members will function as a sounding board for a series of three to four presentations during the coming academic year. A member of the A&S leadership team will present on a different topic each meeting, and ask participating faculty for feedback. Foundation Team members are also welcome to participate in Strategic Plan townhalls, progress reports, and more.
We are seeking one new member for each team. Both teaching- and tenure-track faculty are eligible. Self-nominations are welcome.
To make a nomination, please submit a short summary of your nomination by Friday, September 15. If self-nominating, please include a short summary of your interest in the position.
