An Enduring Bond: Svetlana and Daisy’s Story |
From our interim to permanent supportive housing sites, we understand that the bond between a pet owner and their companion runs deep, helping many of our participants navigate the complexities of life and the lasting trauma of homelessness. Whether it's a dog, cat, fish, hamster, or any beloved companion, pets provide comfort, stability, and protection in some of the most stressful situations imaginable.
That bond is something our team sees firsthand every day. And it's exactly what brought Svetlana and her dog, Daisy, through our doors.

Finding Peace Through Home: Douglas’s Story |
For many people experiencing homelessness, the root cause is not a lack of effort, but a combination of hardships and systemic barriers. Rising housing costs, limited safety nets, childhood poverty, and untreated trauma can make stability difficult to achieve—even for those working hard every day.
Douglas knows this reality firsthand.

Donation of the Month: All-Purpose Cleaner
|
Fresh starts begin with the basics. This month, LA Family Housing (LAFH) is collecting all-purpose cleaner to help individuals and families transitioning out of homelessness feel a sense of dignity and care in their new homes. Giving folks the tools to have a clean space can make a powerful difference—turning everyday routines into moments of stability and self-worth. Your donation helps ensure our clients have the essentials they need to truly feel at home.

Tyrone House is Reopening in July
|
One of our interim housing sites for families, Tyrone House, is reopening on July 12th. We need your help to make sure the 12 families who are moving in have the supplies they need to start their housing journey off on the right foot. With your support, we will be able stock the kitchens with all the necessary supplies, and make sure there are personal hygiene items ready for families when they move in.

| Help us create a pop-up "Shop and Swap" experience at one of our interim housing sites in Sylmar on July 10. Volunteers will set up clothing donations, assist participants in finding the items and sizes they need, and help pack everything up at the end of the event. Your support gives participants the chance to choose clothing that feels right for them, helping to create a more dignified and empowering experience.

| Jump Rope Camp & Kids Activity Day
|
Join us in July as we host a jump rope camp for children and families! Throughout the month, kids will practice their jump rope skills through games, challenges, and activities, all leading up to an exciting Jump Rope Competition at the end of the month. For children who prefer not to jump rope, we will also offer a variety of other fun activities. Your support will help foster confidence, build community, and provide opportunities for kids to stay active, learn new skills, and simply enjoy being kids.
