The Nike N7 games returned to Whalen Gymnasium last month. FLC was chosen as one of only 11 schools in the country by Nike’s N7 Fund to host the games. The N7 Fund supports organizations that provide sport and physical activity programming for youth in Indigenous communities.

Alumna Michaela Goade included in Time's Next Generation of Leaders 

Michaela Goade (Art, '14), an award-winning illustrator and painter, is among Time's Next Generation of Leaders, a distinction that honors her art and opens the door to more Indigenous storytelling and creators. 

FLC strategizes with partners to address housing crisis

Housing availability for students, faculty, and staff in Durango has become a pressing issue as small mountain towns across the state struggle to accommodate more renters and prices continue to increase. Fort Lewis College is looking at several solutions in collaboration with local partners.

Former Skyhawks chosen to lead local schools

Bill Hesford (Teacher Licensure, ATT '03-'13) and Amber Connet (Interdisciplinary Studies-Elementary Education, '06; M.A. Education-Teacher Leadership, '19) have been appointed as principals in the Bayfield School District. Both Hesford and Connet serve as models for current students in FLC's Teacher Education Department.

Way to show up, Skyhawks!
Fort Lewis College is celebrating its most successful #GivingTuesday to date after nearly $520,000 came in from more than 300 donors. Among the many generous donations and matches were a $100,000 gift from an anonymous donor for critical student support and persistence efforts and a $200,000 anonymous gift for the Athletics program.
