TEACHING AT UO
Pro tem instructor Slavka Eberhart-Garah facilitates a peer critique of students' final presentations in JCOM 372, Writing for Digital Audiences, in the School of Journalism and Communication. The course is designed to teach students how to think about, research, and write persuasive digital content like public relations professionals, and to start developing into thoughtful global citizens.

The TEP webpage provides information on tools you might use to communicate with students and share your teaching materials in these situations, including Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Dropbox, and SharePoint. It also includes instructions for backing up Canvas courses and materials.
Working with a student overwhelmed by academics?  The Tutoring and Academic Engagement Center (TAEC) offers peer and professional academic coaching through finals week. Students can make appointments online via Navigate or drop into the fourth floor of the Knight Library Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

The molecules in the cells that respond to heat stress become energised, which Professor Chris Minson, a physiologist from the University of Oregon, says can have a multitude of benefits, including reducing inflammation and "sweeping up damaged proteins" which can help the cell to repair itself.

This session is intended for faculty and staff teaching their first online class. Explore what it means to teach an online course at the UO. Students in online classes flourish when instructors engage with them in regular and meaningful ways and encourage a robust peer learning community.

GenAI: What UO Students Are Experiencing 
Friday, June 5, from 10 a.m.-noon in Gerlinger Alumni Lounge  
Join us for a deep dive into how UO students are using – or avoiding – GenAI in their courses. This event will include a student panel and the first look at new findings from a UO faculty-led research study on students’ AI-decision making and how different teaching strategies relate to those decisions. Refreshments will be served.
